Sioen partners with Resortecs to create sustainable, recyclable workwear

Resortecs is pushing forward in the area of textile eco-design and end-of-life waste management, offering heat-dissolvable stitching threads (Smart Stitch™) and thermal disassembly systems (Smart Disassembly™). Their technology enables automated textile recycling on an industrial scale.
At Sioen, we're excited to announce our collaboration with Resortecs to revolutionize workwear sustainability. Resortecs' Smart Stitch™ heat-dissolvable threads will allow us to create high-performance workwear that can be easily disassembled and recycled at the end of its lifecycle without compromising quality, comfort, or safety standards. This breakthrough technology will allow us to recover twice the amount of textile material up to 15 times faster than conventional methods.
This partnership forms the foundation of a textile waste management consortium of workwear in Benelux and France, with a Smart Disassembly™ line planned from Resortecs for Belgium by the end of 2025. With an annual processing capacity of 3000 tons, this initiative will significantly reduce textile waste.
