Telematik award for Detector
Trailer protection awarded
Sioen and ZF Friedrichshafen AG have won the Telematik Award in the category Trailer Telematics with Detector, a product containing Sioen’s Protector technology and the Transics branded TX-Trailerguard ™, the advanced Fleet Management Solution from ZF’s Commercial Vehicle Control Systems division (former WABCO).
Trailer cargo theft is a common problem that Sioen and ZF are tackling together with the “Detector” solution. Sioen’s Detector is already a fully working solution having been field tested extensively by a number of leading fleets.
Detector
Detector contains Sioen’s Protector technology and ZF’s TX-Trailerguard™. Protector is a multi-layered tarpaulin, consisting of textile and steel wire. It stops deep cuts made by knives and has conductive layers that can be used in trailer doors, roofs and sides. Thanks to the interface with ZF’s TX-Trailerguard ™ technology, an alarm goes off the moment someone tampers with the tarpaulin. Through ZF’s TX-Connect™ solution, the alarm can trigger different scenarios, such as sending notifications to the driver, fleet back office and control tower or activate a sirene installed on the trailer to scare off the intruder.
When this new product is combined with WABCO’s OptiLock™, an advanced wireless electronic door lock which enables remote live monitoring and management of trailer access, fleets can now further improve their ability to control potential trailer breaches in real time.
