Sioen supports Human Rights through SDGs

At Sioen, we're committed to make progress on the SDGs and that implies we make progress on our human rights obligations. Human rights and the SDGs are two sides of the same coin. Over 90 percent of the goals and targets of the SDGs correspond to human rights obligations. We've used the SDG-HR table of the OHCHR as beacon in our operations.

Sioen is committed to the SDGs and Human Rights

At Sioen, we're committed to make progress on the SDGs and that implies we make progress on our human rights obligations. Human rights and the SDGs are two sides of the same coin. Over 90 percent of the goals and targets of the SDGs correspond to human rights obligations.

People take central stage

At Sioen, people take central stage. Whether they are our customers or our staff, people make the difference and we're committed to make the difference for and together with them. This "family" vision, results in the fact that human rights are central in Sioens SDG implementation.

OHCRH: Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights

We've used the guidelines of the OHCRH (see pdf and link below) as a checkbox of implementing our global HR policy. The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (UN Human Rights) is the leading UN entity on human rights. They represent the world's commitment to the promotion and protection of the full range of human rights and freedoms set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Promote and protect all human rights

We recognise the OHCRH and accept that they speak out objectively in the face of human rights violations and help elaborate the standards that are used to evaluate human rights progress worldwide.

Help empower people

We recognise and support the OHCRH to conduct research, education, and advocacy activities, contribute to the increased awareness and engagement by the international community and the public on human rights issues. Thus empowering people to claim their rights.
