Sioen apparel is a member of the Shift, a sustainable community
Membership of the Shift pushes us forward
We chose to be member of The Shift because this association has the same aspirations as we do. Namely, to realise the transition towards a more sustainable society and economy together with others. The Shift is the Belgian meeting point for sustainability. It is the Belgian contact for the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and UN Global Compact (UNGC). They bring together over 460 organisations from a variety of different sectors.
Connect. Commit. Change.
Connect – The shift is a unique and diverse Belgian network of companies and non-profit organisations that share the same ambition to co-create added value for society. All members have set up their societal ambitions for the coming years. Check.
Commit – All members have to make a roadmap, based on the global framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Check.
Change – Develop and co-develop innovative business models and societal projects to help solve the biggest challenges for our society. Check – ongoing WIP (work in progress)
Priorities of Change
The Shift has set priorities of change that have inspired us to set our own. Based on the SDGs, the Shift drafted a proposal on what this transition to a sustainable world in 2030 could look like. Which shifts do we need in order to improve our mobility, energy system, food and employment? And how do we make our economy truly circular? By defining clear priorities, the Shift offers companies like ours a better view on the choices to make and levers to use.
SDGs, UN Global Compact
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations are the common framework that binds, engages and motivates the members of the Shift to action. The shift joins forces with both national and international partners to facilitate the implementation of the SDGs.
