Making people's lives better

This page provides an overview of our CSR initiatives - actions that create value for both our company and the communities in which we operate. We firmly believe in the power of shared value, benefiting all our stakeholders, including employees, suppliers, clients, governments, shareholders, partners, and society as a whole.
Sustainable products

Pond liners

We produce liners that are used in pond landscaping and to construct water bassins that enhance the character of parks and other recreational areas.

Ursuit eco bathing suit for training

"Extreme long lasting training suit made of a technologically advanced, sustainable fabric combining the an elastomeric fiber and a 100% recycled polyamide yarn derived from post consumer materials."

Ursuit Warm n' Cool range

Recycled materials are used when available, and we are exploring the possibilities to expand the usage of sustainable materials. For example, the elastic fleece and the carrying bag of the Warm n' Cool are using recycled plastic.

Sustainable PPC collection

Sioen PPC will launch a high visibility sustainable range. In the first phase, a rain jacket, a softshell and a polo shirt will be launched.

R&D in society

We put extra R&D efforts in sustainability issues such as increasing heat in cities, the growing population, the need for food and protection, etc. We take part in EU projects such as the Cool Towns project that aims to reduce heat stress.

Geotextiles for water bassins, dams and canals

We produce geotextiles that are used in coastal and river erosion protection to construct large water basins, dams and canals among others. Geotextiles have the ability to separate, filter, protect, or drain and are indispensable in any construction.

Fabrics for sewer renovation

We produce nonwovens and scrims that are used for CIPP in sewer renovation. CIPP stands for Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP) in pipeline repair. The principle consists of inserting a felt lining into a pre-existing pipe that is the subject of repair.

Fabrics for reef protection

There's care needed to preserve and protect coral reefs during dredging activities. We produce fabrics that are used to protect the reef from mud and blown sand. The first type of fabric serves as a curtain, the latter keeps these curtains affloat.

Asqual

Our technical textiles for geotextiles and firefighter clothing have Asqual certification. Asqual certifications are recognised in France.

FSSC 22000

The Food Safety Certification requirements provide a system to manage food safety risks and provide safe products for use by companies in the food industry.

Garments for Emergeny Services

By producing garments for emergency services, we directly contribute to building a safe, peaceful and resilient society. Protecting our protectors.

Textiles for desludging and dewatering

We produce coated textiles and geotextiles for removing fine sediments from sites and for dewatering of waste water and sludge water. Our range includes wovens, scrims, nonwovens, films, sheets and coated textiles for industrial sanitation.

Biobased and biodegradable

Sioen’s R&D team searches for biobased and biodegradable solutions and takes part in a range of EU projects.

Coastbusters

Sioen partners up in the Coastbusters project to develop nature-based solutions for coastal stabilisation.

Seaweed cultivation

Our R&D team is actively looking for sustainable aquaculture solutions. As part of the EU AT~SEA project, Sioen developed textile mats and nets on which seaweed can be cultivated. The fabric has been deployed and tested in Norway and Ireland.
