Sioen UK/ Mullion Technology Ltd is a member of BSIF

Thanks to Mullion's BSIF membership, we're enhancing the voice of Mullion as part of the British safety industry, and we're recognising how important safety is to us. This valuable partnership helps to realise SDG 17.

BSIF membership

Sioen UK or rather Mullion Technology Ltd is member of the British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF). It is the lead association for the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Directive and is recognised as a Competent Authority by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE).

The British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) is the "association for the Personal Protective Equipments (PPE) Regulation and is recognised as a Competent Authority by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) and has Primary Authority status with Trading Standards."

The organisation works with many governmental departments and more than 100 Trade Bodies. Their more than 350 members range from manufacturers of safety products over distributors and test houses to certification bodies, etc.

According to the BSIF website, "today the BSIF is firmly established as the major independent voice of the British safety industry, helping to both influence legislation and provide industry in general with a source of authoritative information on a range of workplace safety issues, while representing the needs of its members."

Why BSIF membership is this interesting to us

Being a BSIF member is of major importance to us for a number of reasons:

  • It helps us to remain up-to-date with the changing regulations.
  • It helps to show our credibility as a PPE manufacturer (for example when other businesses are doing research for a tender).
  • Members are protected from possible untrustworthy suppliers.
  • We can benefit from the organisation's active links with governmental departments and Trade Bodies.
