King Baudouin Foundation

We make annual donations to the King Baudouin Foundation, a benefit foundation that is an actor for change and innovation, which perfectly fits Sioen’s ‘Protection through innovation’ point of view. Some key values are integrity and transparency.

Human rights and SDGs

Sioen supports Human Rights through SDGs, taking the OHCHR as general guideline in all its operations.

Sustainable garments: design for

Six “Design For” guidelines as rules of thumb for designing and producing durable Sioen garments. Your guarantee for sustainability all the way.

SOS Faim

Together with OVO and SOS Faim, Sioen supports the emancipation of more than 3 000 female entrepreneurs in Senegal.

Faja Lobi

Sioen supports the NGO Faja Lobi that aims to improve the ecological and social situation in Congo. Fighting global warming by helping to reforest 50.000 ha.

Rikolto

Sioen, OVO and Rikolto are committed to sustainable coffee cultivation in Sumatra. The big winners: 1 400 local coffee farmers and the rainforest.

Products for agriculture, seagriculture and fishing

Sioen produces fabrics and protective garments for farmers, seagriculture and fishing, thus contributing to the production of food for all.

Financial support from companies such as Sioen is of golden value to OVO. In time, the organisation wants to evolve towards strategic partnerships.

A cent a day

Our employees who work in our Indonesian branches raised money for charity. Thanks to those donations, combined with a company donation, we could buy shoes, uniforms, books, etc. for children in a socio-economically disadvantaged environment.

NRP 9026+C1:2012, official declaration that we apply the principles and guidelines of the ISO 26000:2010 standard.

Red Cross Latrines

Sioen and Stichting Waste have developed raised latrines as part of the European ‘Speedkits’ project, which develops emergency response units that provide first aid support to people in risk areas.

Donation earthquake Croatia

Sioen sent 10 000 m2 of watertight PVC fabric to cover the houses and livestock in Croatia after a heavy earthquake.

Orphanage Myanmar

A fundraising at Sioen Myanmar amongst its employees in favour of a local orphanage. The Sioen company also contributed to the fundraising with an additional donation.

SA8000 equivalent

Sioen holds several similar/ comparable credentials to the SA 8000 that show our commitment to all our employees. The STeP certificate covers the fields the SA8000 sets out.

Seaweed cultivation

Our R&D team is actively looking for sustainable aquaculture solutions. As part of the EU AT~SEA project, Sioen developed textile mats and nets on which seaweed can be cultivated. The fabric has been deployed and tested in Norway and Ireland.
