Making people's lives better

An overview of all the CSR-related things we do. They show how a concerted focus on CSR benefit both the company and the communities in which we operate. We believe deeply in this potential of shared value for all our stakeholders, whether they are employees, suppliers, clients, governments, shareholders, partners, local communities, or society as a whole.

Sioen is member of the European Biogas Association

Sioen is proud to be a member of the European Biogas Association (EBA), a professional association dedicated to the promotion of the green energy gas industry.

No green energy without Sioen products

We produce films, fabrics and garment that are used in the construction of solar panels, windmills and biogas installations.

Carbon footprint

Sioen calculates its carbon footprint annually to see where things can be improved and how we can reduce our footprint.

Loading docks for electric cars

Our Sioen Talents and our neighbours can charge their electric cars at one of our charging stations at our HQ. While electric cars do have a certain impact on the environment, they are still a great option for reducing your carbon footprint.

Mouscron: Generating renewable energy

Sioen generates green energy and several new green energy ideas are currently being studied.

ISO 14001:2015

Sioen is ISO 14001 certified, which means that we’ve implemented an environmental management system (EMS).

Mouscron: general overview

This article provides an overview of all energy improvements made at our Mouscron site.

Award: wave breaker

Our client, Jel-Tom in Croatia used our technical textiles to produce an award-winning wave breaker. It not only protects the coastline, but also generates electricity from the sun and the force of the sea.

Energy recuperation

In all of our coating plants, the air above the machines is extracted and purified. The energy that is released is used to preheat the furnaces. The optimisation of this process is one of the reasons why our gas consumption has decreased so much.

Solar panels

Our electricity consumption has fallen sharply in recent years thanks to installing solar panels at our production facilities. At our headquarters in Ardooie, 10% of the total annual electricity consumption comes from the solar panels on the roof.

Mouscron: Exhausting hot air compressors

The compressor room of our Spinning mill includes a hot air evacuation system.

Mouscron: Cooling tower

We have installed an efficient pump system in the cooling towers for energy efficiency and we monitor it.

Mouscron: Fresh air crystallisers

Efficiency and energy use improvements at our spinning mill have an economical and ecological effect.

Mouscron: Compressed air, leakage reduction

Thanks to a leakage improvement plan, we have reduced the volume of leaks, resulting in a substantial energy consumption reduction.

Mouscron: Compressed air 13 bar

Our Mouscron Spinning plant has an improved 13 bar compressed air network, which is part of our Energy plan.

Mouscron: Compressed air 7 bar

We are redesigning a 7 bar compressed air network at Sioen spinning, which is part of our Energy plan.

ISO 50001

Dimension-Polyant, part of the Sioen Group, is compliant with the ISO 50001 standards.

Fabrics and garments for renewable energy

Sioen is producing technical textiles and protective clothing for biogas, seaweed and windmill activities.
