Sioen supports Human Rights through SDGs, taking the OHCHR as general guideline in all its operations.

Lunch & Learn

During our Lunch & Learn meetings, colleagues and external speakers can inspire us by exchanging experiences. Previous themes were healthy nutrition, bicycle maintenance and ergonomics. With the workshop comes a lunch and a drink in good company.

Youth employment

We’re encouraging youth employment. Young people should get equal opportunities. When starting at Sioen, you get an on-the-job practical training that helps you to swiftly start your career at a large international company.

Training on the job

At the beginning of our new Sioen Talents’ careers, we always offer on-the-job training. This practical training helps them to get to know the job with useful tips and tricks. Participation in both internal and external trainings is encouraged.

Coolbox

Veranneman installed the Coolbox, a communications hub that provides a place for meetings and for monitoring the loom data.

Ergonomic tools

Erroneous, prolonged and heavy lifting can lead to back problems. That is why we opted for ergonomic lifting equipment that puts less strain on the user. At Veranneman Technical Textiles, for example, we have added lifting aid to move the bobbins.

Quiet zones

We’re installing unique quiet zones in and around our production units. We're convinced that offering our people a quiet place contributes to their wellbeing

Sioen Family Day

We're organising the annual Sioen family day on the Sioen HQ premises. Food, drinks and activities for young and old. A day full of pleasure and great informal contacts.

Art in the office

By adding art to our offices and meeting rooms, we aim to improve the working environment.

Enjoyable workplace

At Sioen, we strive for a family atmosphere throughout our departments worldwide. We go for a personal approach, and we try to make sure that every employee can develop himself 100%. With us, the employee comes first.

Superior working conditions

We offer superior working conditions in all our plants. We're proud of our plants and of the people who work here. Together, we lift Sioen higher.

Internships

We currently offer internships in all departments of our company, ranging from textile engineering, logistics, marketing to finance and general business management. We collaborate with local schools and universities to help students grow.

Ergonomic desks

We are running a pilot project with height-adjustable desks. We are studying to what extent they are used and which effect they have on our people’s well-being. It allows people to decide for themselves when to work standing up or sitting down.

Breast cancer screening

We are screening our Indonesian female staff for breast and cervical cancer. We aim to create awareness by organising seminars in close collaboration with the Thamrin Hospital and with Pan Pacific Life Insurance.
