A contraction of the word “passion” and of the company “Sioen.” Passioen is the feeling of intense enthusiasm you sense at all Sioen collaborators.

Human rights and SDGs

Sioen supports Human Rights through SDGs, taking the OHCHR as general guideline in all its operations.

Amfori BSCI audits

SGS, an independent auditor, audits Sioen production sites according to the 13 performance areas of Amfori BSCI.

Mouth mask filters COVID-19

In the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, Sioen has developed reusable filters that can be added to mouth masks.

Coolbox

Veranneman installed the Coolbox, a communications hub that provides a place for meetings and for monitoring the loom data.

Ergonomic tools

Erroneous, prolonged and heavy lifting can lead to back problems. That is why we opted for ergonomic lifting equipment that puts less strain on the user. At Veranneman Technical Textiles, for example, we have added lifting aid to move the bobbins.

Award: Lifetime achievement award

Mrs Sioen won the Lifetime achievement award by Director-E, the leading magazine in the apparel industry. The award was a recognition for 57 years of hard work of Mrs. Sioen since the foundation of the company in 1960. She passed away in 2020.

Award: Manager of the Year

Our CEO, Michèle Sioen, was elected "Manager of the Year". A jury of experts chose, together with the readers of the magazine Trends the Manager of the Year 2017. "I consider this a price for the entire company, for all employees," she says.

Medics without vacations

Sioen supports Medics without Vacation and donates medical textiles to the NGO to help them in their daily missions. Medics without vacation is a recognised NGO with a team of more than 600 doctors and nurses.

Increase safety: Detector

Detector, a collaboration between Sioen and ZF Friedrichshaven AG, protects cargo, such as the COVID-19 vaccine and prevents people trafficking.

Ctif Membership

Sioen is member of CTif, the International association of fire and rescue services. The goal is to have safer citizens through skilled firefighters.

Ergonomic desks

We are running a pilot project with height-adjustable desks. We are studying to what extent they are used and which effect they have on our people’s well-being. It allows people to decide for themselves when to work standing up or sitting down.

Sioen is fully qualified as a supplier on Achilles UVDB which means we try to reduce risks and try to maintain superb industry standards.
