Pralines

The Sioen Pralines we give to our customers as a gift on special occasions, are made by Chocolaterie Deceuninck. The owner works in the weekend shift at the HQ plant. Supporting the local community wholeheartedly.

Winter tents Red Cross Mongolia

Our textiles are used to produce winter tents in Mongolia in collaboration with the IFRC, the British Red Cross, the Mongolian Red Cross and Mongolian Civil services. The tents were thoroughly tested in the extreme weather conditions of Ulaanbaatar.

MOD Mark

MOD Mark and his compatriot succeeded in beating the Guinness World Record for the fastest dinghy sailing between Plymouth and Faslane. With our brand Mullion, we provided them with their sailing apparel.

Internships

We currently offer internships in all departments of our company, ranging from textile engineering, logistics, marketing to finance and general business management. We collaborate with local schools and universities to help students grow.

Noordkaap Challenge

Sioen sponsors 2 participants of the “Noordkaap Challenge”, a road trip to the north of Europe where teams execute assignments to raise money for charity. It supports ‘Het Vergeten Kind’, an initiative that helps children in the Netherlands.

Part of Vlerick Board of Directors

Our CEO, Michele Sioen, is part of the Vlerick board of directors. This is a triple-accredited, international business school at the heart of Europe (number 1 in Benelux and 19 in Europe) for executive education.

Orphanage Myanmar

A fundraising at Sioen Myanmar amongst its employees in favour of a local orphanage. The Sioen company also contributed to the fundraising with an additional donation.

Maité Carlier

We're supporting the promising Belgian sailor Maité Carlier. She is active in the Laser Radial class, a singlehanded boat. She combines sailing with Communication Management studies at Arteveldehogeschool.

Iasa school Romania

We believe that all children should have access to school supplies. Our production plant in Romania provides the local children in the village of Iasa with everything they need for the first day of school. This includes pens, paper, books, etc.

Pink Firefighters

We're dressing a pink firefighter engaged against breast cancer and who is supporting all breast cancer awareness associations in Europe.

Ergonomic desks

We are running a pilot project with height-adjustable desks. We are studying to what extent they are used and which effect they have on our people’s well-being. It allows people to decide for themselves when to work standing up or sitting down.

Breast cancer screening

We are screening our Indonesian female staff for breast and cervical cancer. We aim to create awareness by organising seminars in close collaboration with the Thamrin Hospital and with Pan Pacific Life Insurance.

Coveralls for solar team

The Agoria Solar team (a team of students) was looking for garments to build their next generation solar car, Sioen gave them 12 coveralls that allow them to do that safely.

REACH compliant

We're REACH compliant. REACH is the European Community Regulation on chemicals and their safe use. It deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical substances.

Asqual

Our technical textiles for geotextiles and firefighter clothing have Asqual certification. Asqual certifications are recognised in France.

FSSC 22000

The Food Safety Certification requirements provide a system to manage food safety risks and provide safe products for use by companies in the food industry.

By producing garments for emergency services, we directly contribute to building a safe, peaceful and resilient society. Protecting our protectors.

Constructive relationship with labour associations

Sioen HRM have a good relationship with labour unions in creating an environment of harmony. Resulting in profitability as well as in employee welfare. Labour associations in all our plants represent the interests of workers in the workplace.

Sioen's Semarang plant in Indonesia is WRAP Gold certified.
