Mouscron: Fresh air crystallisers

Efficiency and energy use improvements at our spinning mill have an economical and ecological effect.

Mouscron: Compressed air, leakage reduction

Thanks to a leakage improvement plan, we have reduced the volume of leaks, resulting in a substantial energy consumption reduction.

Mouscron: Compressed air 13 bar

Our Mouscron Spinning plant has an improved 13 bar compressed air network, which is part of our Energy plan.

Mouscron: Compressed air 7 bar

We are redesigning a 7 bar compressed air network at Sioen spinning, which is part of our Energy plan.

Pond liners

We produce liners that are used in pond landscaping and to construct water bassins that enhance the character of parks and other recreational areas.

Growth, professionalism, family values and a concerted focus on sustainability and value made Sioen Lion of The Export.

Dog Happiness Shelter

Sioen donated 8 warm jackets to a the Dog Happiness Shelter in Serbia. The hats and boots were donated by Safety Jogger. This donation made working in freezing temperatures less uncomfortable. Dog Happines VZW focusses on Sacha’s shelter.

Recycling all the way

We recycle as much as possible. We invest in research on recycling composite materials, we recycle PVC residue, solvent, and other raw materials as much as possible, and we are making fabrics from high quality recycled yarns, among others.

Our drysuit model, the Ursuit Gemino Navigator received a special mention in the clothing and crew accessories category in the DAME Design Awards. It's the ultimate two-piece suit for sailing and for other maritime activities.

Ursuit Warm n' Cool range

Recycled materials are used when available, and we are exploring the possibilities to expand the usage of sustainable materials. For example, the elastic fleece and the carrying bag of the Warm n' Cool are using recycled plastic.

Award: Innovation Award

Sioen wins Innovation Award at the Inprint Fair in München with the innovative red UV ink and varnish for the official Belgian license plate.

Sustainable PPC collection

Sioen PPC will launch a high visibility sustainable range. In the first phase, a rain jacket, a softshell and a polo shirt will be launched.

Our gardens redesigned

Sioen has signed the Green Deal Companies and Biodiversity. We have redesigned the plants at our HQ to create more shade, we plant more native climate-adaptive species, we create wildflower meadows and we attract more birds and insects.

Planting trees

Every year, we plant trees at our Indonesian production facility that provide shade and that serve as the natural lungs of the area. At our Ardooie headquarters, we have recently transplanted 15 large trees from one area to another.

Supporting a wind farm in the Phillipines

Our Brand Dimension Polyant combines the Clean Oceans project with a Gold Standard climate protection project, a wind farm in the Philippines, to achieve certified emission reduction. With every ton of CO2, 10 kg plastic waste is compensated.

Supporting ‘Plastic Free Oceans'

The project we support with our brand Dimension Polyant to compensate all remaining emissions, prevents plastic waste from entering the sea and thus indirectly protects the climate.

Green rest zones

We try to enjoy our outdoors facilities as much as possible. The green zones at our sites are perfect to relax during a lunch break, for example. In addition, they are a safe haven for plants, insects and birds.

Geotextiles for water bassins, dams and canals

We produce geotextiles that are used in coastal and river erosion protection to construct large water basins, dams and canals among others. Geotextiles have the ability to separate, filter, protect, or drain and are indispensable in any construction.

Fabrics for sewer renovation

We produce nonwovens and scrims that are used for CIPP in sewer renovation. CIPP stands for Cured-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP) in pipeline repair. The principle consists of inserting a felt lining into a pre-existing pipe that is the subject of repair.
